Family-owned · San Antonio, TX
The company that measures first.
Motmot Foundation Repair is a family-owned company working from Vance Jackson Road in San Antonio, serving homeowners along the whole I-35 corridor to Austin. We built the business around one conviction: in an industry famous for pressure, the measurement should do the selling.
Motmot was founded by Ricardo and Tatty Chamorro — Ricardo with nearly 15 years in San Antonio and Central Texas foundation repair, from crew member to foreman, superintendent, project manager and office manager; Tatty with a background in Construction Management. They built the company around honesty, technical understanding, and treating every property as if it were their own.

About Ricardo & Tatty Chamorro
Built on experience. Guided by honesty. Trusted by property owners.
Motmot Foundation Repair was built on a simple belief: homeowners and commercial property owners deserve honest answers, quality workmanship, and long-term peace of mind.
Ricardo Chamorro brings nearly 15 years of hands-on foundation repair experience in San Antonio and Central Texas. He started in the field on foundation repair crews and worked his way up through nearly every level of the industry — crew member, foreman, superintendent, project manager, and office manager. That experience gave him a complete understanding of foundation repair from the ground up: not from an office or sales perspective, but from real job sites, real properties, and real structural concerns. He is also ICC-certified as a Residential Building Contractor, adding formal technical knowledge to years of field experience.
After Ricardo met and married Tatty Chamorro, they joined forces to create Motmot Foundation Repair. Tatty studied Construction Management and brought her own knowledge, organization, and attention to detail into the company. Together, they built Motmot around honesty, experience, technical understanding, and a commitment to treating every property as if it were their own.
Over the years, Ricardo and Tatty have seen almost every type of foundation situation. Some properties show large, alarming cracks even when the elevation readings are not severe. Others have only small visible cracks while the movement underneath is much more serious. Those experiences taught them that every property must be inspected carefully, explained clearly, and handled with patience and professionalism.
Foundation repair doesn't end when the crew leaves the property, either. Some companies disappear when warranty claims or future concerns arise — Motmot was created to be different. As part of our commitment to long-term care, we check in with customers every six months, so small issues get caught early, before they become expensive problems.
Motmot is more than a foundation company. It is a family-owned business built by people who understand the stress foundation problems bring to homeowners, commercial property owners, investors, and property managers. Our mission is to help every customer feel safe, informed, and protected.
How we're built
Four choices that make the rest easy.
Inspection-first, always
The measurement comes before the recommendation, every single time. If the elevation map says monitor, you hear monitor.
Nobody here is commissioned on pier count
The person inspecting your home doesn't earn more by finding more. That one structural choice removes the industry's worst incentive.
Documentation as a product
Elevation maps, pier logs, pressure readings, before/after surveys — paperwork built to outlive us and satisfy your future buyer's inspector.
The honest no
Some houses don't need us. Saying so quickly and clearly is the cheapest marketing we do, and we mean to keep it that way.

Why "Motmot"?
A bird that digs its own foundation.
The motmot is a Central American bird with a peculiar habit: instead of building nests in branches, it tunnels into the earth — patient, precise burrows that outlast the seasons. A creature that solves its housing problems underground felt like the right mascot.
